I would like to write a blog entry, but my body is preventing me from doing so. I'm not sure I mentioned this during my pregnancy days, but I had a rather nasty case of carpal tunnel in both arms. I didn't have to get the splint or anything, but it will occasionally flair up if I use my wrist too much. Interestingly, it hurts the most whenever I make Rice Krispie treats (weird, I know. But really, my arm will like, spasm. I'm not joking. It's only during the 'melting of the marshmallows' part, but it's still very painful).
So I don't know what I was thinking when I attempted to scrub our new **GORGEOUS** tile today. We're talking about 1800 square feet of dust-covered, gritty tile that doesn't just need washing, it needs scrubbing. I dutifully made the first round of washing this morning (dumping and refilling my water three times) and managed to completely clean the laminate (vacuumed, Swiffer-ed, and then polished to a shine)...and now I'm paying the price.
I've already popped a couple Advil and am headed to bed. I realize I haven't blogged in forever, and it will probably be several more days until I blog again, but just know, everything is cool on this end. I can't wait to post pictures -- hopefully after Saturday. Weeeee!
(oh, and yes, the tile will need to be scrubbed THREE to FOUR times before all of the grit comes off. The tile guy told me this and I nearly cried. But, it's worth it and even if I have to use my forehead, our tile will be clean and shiny. Eventually.)
(One last thing -- my sister's baby Ben has demonstrated some mad skills in the 'army crawling' department. I won't lie and tell you it didn't cross my mind that we could just fly baby Ben down to Vegas for the weekend, strap a vinegar-soaked rag to his belly, and let him have at it. The kid would have the floor cleaned in no time flat. And Scotty would just sit nearby, clicking his little blocks together, since he is still 100% immobile. ::sigh::)
