We have a due date! Kind of.

Breaking news:  I think we just lost our housing mucus plug...

The third trimester of home buying is coming to close. After a very difficult, long weekend after a not-so-great home inspection and crunching some numbers, I cried to Brian that we are never going to find the right house and will be stuck in our current home for the next thirty years. ("I'm going to be pregnant foreeeeeeever!")

But then, just like pregnancy, everything can change in a day...it took a few phone calls from the Whippersnapper to get the sellers to agree make the necessary repairs (such as, when you take a shower in the master bathroom, you should not get wet in the kitchen) and some serious negotiations with our lender to work out the numbers, and....viola! We have a tentative closing date. Baby House will be here before the end of the month!

I am beyond excited. I think it's really starting to set in, too -- the idea that we will have a new home. To stretch out in. To pile our boxes in. To actually remove our wedding china from its original packaging and place in some amoire at some point. Happy, happy, happy.

At our childbirth of closing, I think I will probably cry tears of joy and fear. Because I know the next several months are going to be hell. Between my husband who works 12+ hours a day and my child that does not sleep, I'm going to have to pack this entire house by myself (mostly) and handle the majority of the repairs/renovations myself. And just like the first three months after having a baby, I have a feeling I will sleep little, be exhausted, and live mainly on caffeine and toast. Hopefully, we can skip the night sweats on this round.  But just like a child - if you put the work in up front, hopefully you can enjoy your diligence in the years to come. Potential --- both have so much potential. Both only one draws on the (newly painted) walls.  Eeeeek!

So, yeah, big news. I am so excited, anxious, overwhelmed, and happy. This has literally been a three-plus year odyssey for Brian and I...and now it is finally coming to a close. I don't want to make some inappropriate analogy here (we had housing fertility issues?) but this long, crazy path looks like it might finally, finally be over. Whew!

Oh, and a quick Bachelor comment....Corrie! Poor kid. Having confessing to being the big V, she totally got the boot. That's rough. Though I'm looking forward to meeting Vienna's white trash salad of a family next week, I think it might be curtains for her. Final two prediction:  Gia and Tenley.

(I loved Jake's comment to Gia before the rose ceremony..."You're not like any of the other girls here." Great job, Sherlock. You're right, she's the one with brown hair.)

    About Me

Think of this as the epilogue to Bridget Jones' story. Well, mostly. Bridget marries the handsome lawyer, starts a blog while on bedrest, and decides marathon running sounds like fun. Bridget goes through a divorce but keeps running. Hilarity ensues.
